Focus on God, not the hungry lions.

Dearest God,
Thank you for everything you have given us. Thank you for being beside us always. Please bless my children with peace, happiness, good health and good character. Thank you for guiding and guarding my precious children.
Amen.

Dearest Albert and Alfred,
May God's favor and grace be with you always.
May God reunite us as soon as possible.

I am sure you will be remembering the story of Daniel in the lions den from your children's bible that we used to read. You can find the story of Daniel in the pit of lions in chapter 6 in the book of Daniel in the Holy Bible.

Click here for a recap of Daniel in the pit of lions

I wonder how Daniel felt when he was thrown into the pit of lions. I wonder if he felt a little frightened momentarily in the beginning as soon as he was thrown into the pit of hungry lions. However, I am sure he was at peace later, amidst the lions, because he focused on God and not the lions.

Darius, the king lost his appetite and sleep knowing that his friend Daniel had been thrown into a pit of hungry lions. He had tried his best to find some way to save Daniel from being thrown into the pit of lions. Let me quote the verses of the Holy Bible about what happened early next morning.

Daniel 6: 19-23
19 At dawn the king got up and hurried to the pit. 20 When he got there, he called out anxiously, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was the God you serve so loyally able to save you from the lions?”
21 Daniel answered, “May Your Majesty live forever! 22 God sent his angel to shut the mouths of the lions so that they would not hurt me. He did this because he knew that I was innocent and because I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”
23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders for Daniel to be pulled up out of the pit. So they pulled him up and saw that he had not been hurt at all, for he trusted God.

We can see from these verses that Daniel was not frightened even when he was in the pit of hungry lions because he trusted God. God not only saved Daniel from the lions because Daniel was innocent but also gave Daniel peace that comes from God even in the midst of lions. I love, honor and respect God, our Heavenly Father.

I am so thankful to the authors of the Holy Bible and the Holy Books for writing these true stories. I am so thankful to my parents and school teachers who taught me these stories. I am so thankful to God because I know if God could save Daniel from the lions pit, if God could help Joseph (from the Old Testament), who was betrayed by his step-brothers and many many people, God will surely help you and me. I have faith and trust that God will reunite us and pay back in abundance the years we lost with each other.

Nobody on the surface of this earth is going to be untouched by problems and issues. The degree to which the problems hit them may vary. Sometimes we are deceptively hit by major problems, which took us by surprise and by no fault of ours. However, we face these problems just like Daniel, looking up to our God, our heavenly Father. We have to focus only on God, and not on the evil actions by evil people, because evil people think they are destroying the innocent and do not realize they are destroying only themselves in the process. God will let the innocent suffer at the hands of evil for a short time, because in the process He is making the innocent stronger with His gentle guidance. God will send good people to help and protect the innocent. God will be faithful to you, if you are faithful to God and obey His commandments and simply refuse to do wrong because you love God more. You have to build a bond with God, involve Him in everything you do, seek His blessings and advice in everything you do. If you truly love God, you will live a life according to His principles and simply refuse to do wrong.

We need to do our best in every situation in our life and God will surely do the rest.

Remember the golden rule - "Do to others what you would like them to do to you."
Never ever hurt anyone or hate anyone. If a person hurts someone, the only person they are really harming is themselves. However, if anyone hurts you, you don't hurt them back. You report it to your teacher or an authority who has good moral values themselves.

Always love our God and be obedient to Him. Live your life with faith. God will reunite us.

I love you and will always love you.

May God bless my precious children, Albert and Alfred.

With lots of love, prayers and blessings,
Your loving mommy,
Bindu Philips
